Australia needs new ways of building community prosperity, equity, resilience, and wellbeing — and community capital provides a scalable pathway.

Across the country, communities are seeking new ways to build local prosperity, strengthen control, and create more resilient, connected places. At the same time, governments, funders, industry and intermediaries are seeking practical ways to support these needs, recognising the limits of business-asusual approaches.

What’s required are the capital conditions that turn ambition into action — the strategies, structures, and capabilities that enable people and places to understand, generate, access, own, govern, invest, exchange, and redistribute capital in service of shared wellbeing.

The Centre for Community Capital works with communities and collaborators to build these conditions, creating lasting social and economic resilience.
